Movie Review: The Perks of Being a Wallflower Directed by Stephen Chbosky

This movie was enjoyable to watch, it is about the thrills of being a teenager in a big world. It focuses on a freshman named Charlie, who has issues connecting with people, until two seniors, Sam and Patrick, take him under their wing.

Be wary of drug activity and sexual references throughout the movie. Submitted by Shilo

Movie Review: Memoirs of a Geisha Directed by Rob Marshall

Memoirs of a Geisha had a beautiful, enchanting and luxurious exterior, but the core of the movie was full of sorrow, pain and suffering. It is the story of a young girl sold a geisha house after her mother dies. The girl, Chiyo, is separated from her sister and father, and subject to the cruel, abusive treatment of the geisha house master. Her beauty makes her the target of other geisha’s jealousy. Even though she was treated like dirt, she flourished under the training of Mameha. Memoirs of a Geisha is a beautiful-but-bitter movie. A great movie for people who like serious flicks. Media Review: The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

The Lizzie Bennet Diaries is a web series you can find on YouTube, developed by Hank Green and Bernie Su. It is a modern adaptation of “Pride and Prejudice.” So far, there are about 80 episodes, each around 3-5 minutes long. It is set in modern times with a few twists in the story. There are three sisters in the web series, nice-girl, big sister Jane; middle sister and main character Lizzie Bennet; and the youngest (and the wildest) sister Lydia. The story line is witty and interesting, and all of the characters are cool and quirky. I find it easy to just watch several at a time without getting bored. Check out the Lizzie Bennet website http://www.lizziebennet.com/ and look them up on YouTube! Submitted by Brynne

Movie Review: “Pitch Perfect” – Directed by Jason Moore

When a young woman reluctantly goes to a college for the arts for her father, instead of going to L.A. to pursue her love of DJ-ing, she meets some people that would change her in ways that she would never imagine. In the beginning she has a very guarded heart, so when a young man shows her love, she automatically pushes away. She meets a competitive a capella group, and is promised a chance to live her dream in L.A. Through songs, power hungry girls, and even some time in jail, she is able to open her eyes and embrace a new life. All in all Pitch Perfect was phenomenal  It had me laughing all the way through, and the singing was breathtaking. Think of Glee – the college years, raise up the crude humor a few notches and you have Pitch Perfect. I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys musicals, Glee or music in general. Movie Review: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey

Directed by Peter Jackson, based on the novel by J.R.R. Tolkien

The Hobbit was an amazing movie full of wondrous adventure and action. It shows how a young hobbit ventures out of his comfort zone to go on a great journey to save the dwarves’ homeland from a greedy, gold-loving dragon. The hobbit comes across many antagonists with valuable climaxes and resolutions. It is the prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Submitted by Devyn

Movie Review – “Strings” Director Anders Ronnow Klarlund

“Strings” Director Anders Ronnow Klarlund

This movie is a gripping tale about truth, deception and love. It’s a dark tale in which the king’s son embarks on a long journey bent on revenge for his father’s death; at home his uncle takes over the kingdom and entraps the prince’s sister. This movie is done entirely with puppets and sets, but it is just as good as real movie! It’s epic and dark. The music is awesome. I’m sure you could learn to love it! Submitted by Shilo
