Movie Review: Memoirs of a Geisha Directed by Rob Marshall

Memoirs of a Geisha had a beautiful, enchanting and luxurious exterior, but the core of the movie was full of sorrow, pain and suffering. It is the story of a young girl sold a geisha house after her mother dies. The girl, Chiyo, is separated from her sister and father, and subject to the cruel, abusive treatment of the geisha house master. Her beauty makes her the target of other geisha’s jealousy. Even though she was treated like dirt, she flourished under the training of Mameha. Memoirs of a Geisha is a beautiful-but-bitter movie. A great movie for people who like serious flicks.
